Conscious Creative Design

Frank Lloyd Wright, the famous architect, was correct when he said, “Daydreams are basic design”. All physical human creation begins with a thought, a vision, a daydream. The paintings on your wall, the music you listen to, the house you live in, the car you drive.
But how often as a child were you told not to daydream, especially as you found yourself gazing distractedly out the schoolroom window during your least favorite class? What if instead of being shamed, you had been taught that daydreaming is the igniting spark that sets the process of manifestation in motion?
We live in a creative, evolving, ever expanding, ever changing Universe, and we are creative, evolving, ever expanding, ever changing beings. We are constantly creating, minute by minute, as we go through our day. If this is so, wouldn’t you much rather create by conscious intent rather than by default, simply allowing life to happen to you?
What do you love, what makes your heart sing, what brings you deep joy? What would you like to do, be, have, if there were no constraints? If you aren’t sure, spend some time daydreaming and envisioning yourself doing, being, having a life that wakes you up, a life that excites you.
Once you are clear, write it down, speak it aloud, picture it as though it has already happened. Be specific, but don’t limit yourself. Focus on your dreams daily, for energy flows where attention goes. What do YOU want?
Also, realize you are not a solo creator, but a co-creator, working in concert with the Universe. It’s a dance with many other players, a dance requiring faith, courage, along with the ability to focus and the ability to let go.
Your personal timing may not be the Universe’s timing, and the Universe may bring things about in a way that at first could feel disappointing. But as things unfold you might find some wonderful and unexpected possibilities end up coming your way.
Know also that anything within you that is out of alignment with your desires, will come to the surface as you go for what you want. Your stories, your fears, and all the reasons why you can’t have, shouldn’t have, never will have, what you in your heart of hearts, most desire.
We come into the world relatively pure beings, and then encounter challenges and traumas at home, at school, in our communities, in the world at large. Whom would you be now if you had been showered with unconditional love as a child and had been given the freedom and the loving non judgmental support all children deserve?
What patterns and strategies did you develop that worked as a survival mechanism when you were a child, but no longer work for you now? How do these trip you up, get in your way and sabotage your desires? And what can you do about it?
This is the real “stuff” of personal soul work, and why I feel many well known Life Coaches, as well as the book and the movie The Secret only present a slice of the pie! So, stay tuned to read more about this in the next installment!
